Healing Eating Disorders with Care

Eating disorders truly are diseases, they are mental diseases. An eating disorder can manifest itself either as over-eating or compulsive eating, yet it can also be characterized as a lack of sufficient eating by a person who sees themselves as being made ugly by food.

Whichever side of the spectrum an eating disorder will leave the afflicted individual on, there is help. The problem lies in the negative mental image a person has of themselves, and the emotional response they have to that image. Negative feelings that arise from the negative self image will force the eating disorder to worsen and further the cycle.

By treating the mental triggers that spawn the eating disorder, progress can be made in fighting against and winning the battle against the disease. New Dawn Treatment Center, an eating disorder center in California is making strides to successfully treat a myriad of eating disorders.
